Welcome to the BIU LUXURY MOTEL AND SUITES Borno State which was founded on the 30th of June 2010. Borno State is the Home of peace in Nigeria. The Home of Peace" - This acronym well fits Borno State as the State is known for its peaceful and hospitable nature despite its diverse differences in terms of history, religion, culture and languages amongst others.

A brief on the State is all that is required to make a visitor to Borno State feel at home. Over here in Biu Local Government where the The Luxury Motel and Suites is located, the Biu kingdom became established around 1670 in the reign of Mari Watila Tampta. King Mari Watirwa (r. 1793–1838), whose capital was near Biu at Kogu, defeated Fulani invaders from the Gombe emirate to the west. In 1878 Mari Biya, became the first Bura king to rule from Biu. The emir's palace is now situated in the town.

With British rule, Biu division was created in 1918. Mai Ali Dogo was acknowledged as the first emir of Biu in 1920. The area became known as the Biu federation after 1957, when the districts of Shani and Askira were added to the emirate. Maidalla Mustafa dan Muhammad became Mai Biu, also styled Kuthli, in 1959.

Also, Biu town, is an historic kingdom, and traditional emirate of Borno State, Northeastern Nigeria. The town lies on the Biu Plateau and has road connections to Damaturu, Mubi, Gonbi, Yola, Gombe and Shani.

According to tradition, the Biu kingdom was founded by conquest in the mid-16th century by Yamta-ra-Wala (Yamta the Great; also called Yamta [Abdullahi] Ula). The defeated people, however, recovered much of their territory during the rule of Yamta’s son; and not until c. 1670, in the reign of Mari Watila Tampta, did the kingdom become generally secure.

Buba Yero, the first ruler of Gombe emirate (to the west), brought the Fulani jihâd.

Whether you will be sightseeing in the area, attending a convention in downtown Borno State or on business, you have found the perfect place to stay.
